Picture Letter Collage

"K" Picture Letter Collage

I made this for one of my best friends birthdays. I bought a wooden letter from Hobby Lobby and got some pictures developed. I painted the letter black first. After it dried, I used Modge Podge Gloss to put the pictures in place. I put Modge Podge on the back and front of the pictures.

Pomegranate Sugar Scrub

Pomegranate Sugar Scrub

Ingredients:

Dawn Olay Hand Renewal - Pomegranate Dish Soap

Sugar

Directions:

I use jelly jars for making sugar scrub because the bigger or deeper the jar, the harder to get to the bottom. Fill the far 3/4 of the way up with sugar and the rest up with the soap. Stir. All done! So easy, and so wonderful. I use this on my face, legs, etc. It's wonderful, and makes your skin very smooth!
I also used Modge Podge to put glitter on the lid of the jar just to give it some appeal!

White Chocolate Covered Oreo Balls

White Chocolate Covered Oreo Balls

Ingredients:

White Chocolate - Melted - 1 package (I use the Food Lion Brand - Basically the off brand of CandiQuick)

Oreos (Original or Double Stuffed - I prefer the Original, for the Double Stuff is a little to rich for me)

Cream Cheese (1 package 8 oz. per package of oreos)

Directions:

Crush up the package of oreos in a blender, bag, or however you would like to crush them. I save a few crushed Oreos to sprinkle on top of the finished product. Gather a large mixing bowl, and place the crushed oreos into the bowl. Mix the cream cheese in with the Oreos. Roll the Oreo mix into approximately 1" balls onto a cookie sheet. I normally place tin foil on the cookie sheet first. Place the Oreo Balls into the freezer for approximately 15 minutes before putting the chocolate on top. Take the Oreo Balls out of the freezer, and melt the chocolate until melted (It takes me approximately 2 minutes for the tray of chocolate to melt). I use a spoon and scoop the ball into the chocolate and place it back on the cookie sheet to dry. Continue this step until all Oreo balls are covered in chocolate :) Sprinkle crushed Oreos on top.

Source:

Ingredients:
1 package of crescent rolls
1 lb package of sausage (original, mild, hot - whatever you prefer) browned and drained
6 eggs, beaten
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 package of bacon (I add bacon to the recipe - because who doesn't love bacon! I cooked the bacon and broke it apart into pieces and put on top of the sausage)

Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Take a 9 x 13 pan and spray it with pam. Roll out the crescent rolls in the bottom of the pan. Top with an even layer of browned and drained sausage. Then pour in beaten eggs. Add the cooked bacon pieces. And top with cheese! :) Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Chalkboards

This is one of my chalkboards that my lovely boyfriend made for me for Christmas. I just got around to drawing something on it. The other one is smaller, and I will do another post on what I decide to put on that one! The smaller one will go up in my classroom. If anyone has any ideas on what to put on the smaller one for my classroom, let me know! I'd love to hear suggestions!

"On a snowy day..." Writing Activity

"On a snowy day.."

I did this writing activity with my students. I cut off the top part of the picture for privacy reasons for the child. I took their picture, printed them off, and glued them on the picture. I used black, blue, and green construction paper for this activity. I let them choose between blue and green.

I did this activity with my 2nd and 3rd grade after-school kiddo's. They did a great job!

"The Day the Crayon's Quit" by Drew Daywalt

"The Day the Crayons Quit" by Drew Daywalt

This is one of my absolute favorite books. It's about crayons writing letters to their owner about their feelings; for example, the pink crayon is very upset because he/she doesn't get used very often other than by his little sister in her princess coloring book. Then, it goes on to say from another crayon that he is embarrassed because someone took his clothes off (wrapper). Now he won't come out of the crayon box because he's naked. I've read this book to many students, and they just laugh! They think it's so cool. Since reading this book to my after-school kiddo's, I have yet to see a crayon wrapper off of it's designated crayon. I love the imagination of the story. It shows that we aren't all the same. Each crayon gives his/her own defense of why they are misused or overused. They are all tired of being used for the same objects; for example, the black crayon is upset because he always is outlining things and never shading in anything. He says at one point that he doesn't understand why their can't be an occasional black beach ball. I truly adore this story, and I advise anyone to purchase this amazing book!

Mozzarella Cheese (Shredded)

Directions:

Ranch Parmesan Crusted Chicken

I absolutely love this recipe! Thought I would share.

Ingredients

*measurements are approximate. Use your own judgement based on what your family likes.
4 chicken breasts
1 cup crushed Ritz crackers (about 3/4 of a sleeve)
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan Cheese
1 Tbsp Parsley flakes
2 Tbsp Ranch Dressing
2 tsp garlic salt
Instructions

In a sealed ziploc bag, crush Ritz crackers by hand or with a rolling pin. Add Parmesan Cheese and parsley flakes.
Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry. Arrange in a 9x12 dish. Sprinkle with garlic salt and then spread a thin layer of ranch dressing over the top. Sprinkle a handful of cracker/cheese mixture on each chicken breast and pat down.
Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

Red Velvet Whoopie Pies

Red Velvet Whoopie Pies

Ingredients:
Red Velvet Cake Mix
Eggs (Required amount on cake mix box)
Vegetable Oil (Required amount on cake mix box)
Water
Cream Cheese Icing

Directions:
Fix cake mix according to directions on box. Use a cookie sheet. Place the mix on the sheet in circles like a cookie approximately 1 inch wide. It doesn't take as long as cupcakes to fix. You have to watch them to see them stiffen. They will not get too stiff, for it's cake mix. Once they are done, lather the pies with cream cheese icing and put the two pieces together. These are delicious! I suggest keeping them cold. They are much better that way.

White Chocolate Oreos filled with Cookie Dough

White Chocolate Oreos filled with Cookie Dough

I use White Chocolate instead of Milk Chocolate

Ingredients:
Pack of Original Oreos (or any other type you would like)
White Chocolate chips (approximately 2-3 bags)
Cookie Dough (I get the big tub)

Directions:
Take apart the Oreos and put cookie dough inside. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. I dip the Oreos in the white chocolate and place them on a cookie sheet to dry.

Ranch/Cheddar Chip Dip

Ranch/Cheddar Chip Dip

Source: http://www.sweetlittlebluebird.com/2014/01/fiesta-ranch-dip.html

I have tweeked this recipe, for I don't use the Fiesta Ranch packet. However, you can if you'd like. It's just not that easy to find (at least around here). I also use bacon bits.

Ingredients:

  • *1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch Dip - (reduce amount for less intense flavor - you can use)
  • 10 ounce can Rotel Original (drain excess liquid)
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 1 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
  • One pouch of bacon bits (however much you desire)
Directions
Mix all ingredients in a medium size bowl.  Chill in fridge for 1 hour.  Serve with your favorite tortilla chips.  Great with veggies too!  Enjoy!
